Today, 12 teams participated in the Shirin – Saaz te Awaaz program from Srinagar District showcasing their talent and hardwork. Each and every performance bewitched the audience and created a scintillating ambience. Also featuring in today’s program was a message based skit performed by class V students namely Rayyan, Gous, Ali, Afnan and Ziya in Kashmiri. While watching the skit, the participants had the time of their lives as they shook off the nerves by chortling. The esteemed chief guests of today’s program were Mr. Javaid Mustafa Mir (Hon’ble Minister for Revenue govt of J&K), Dr. Aziz Hajini (Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Cultural & Languages) and Mr. Raashid Jehangir (famous singer of our valley).
While addressing the audience, Mr. Javaid Mustafa Mir praised the talented students and expressed his elation about how eloquently the children sang in Kashmir. He also said that this program played a major role in making the works of legendary poets eternal. He concluded his address by quoting a famous line.
The audience was also enchanted by the performance of Mr. Rashid Jehangir, an eminent singer who sang the song “Maaye chaane raevum ha raat doh…” in his melodious voice. The performances were judged by Mr. Raja Bilal, a renowned singer and composer and Mr. Kifayat faheem, a versatile musician. Both the judges were utterly impressed by the performances.
The top three teams of today’s program were:
- Govt Boys High School, Pantha Chowk, Srinaghar
- Khanam’s Public School, Lawaypora, Srinagar
- Govt Girls High School, Pandrethan, Srinagar
The best performance awards went to Sobia Manzoor, Farheen Jeelani, Arbeena Bashir, Zinab, Majid ul and Akib Bashir.
