There were 11 teams govt as well as private from district Pulwama, Srinagar and Ganderbal participating in the quarter finals at Shirin – Saaz te Awaaz who with their dazzling performances enthrall the audience. The beauty of the whole programme was that DPS Athwajan voluntarily backoff as competitors.
Students proved what they have learnt over the years at DPS Srinagar “LEARN TO GIVE” which is the motive of DP Dhar Memorial Trust. Another reason for withdrawing as competitors was that other participating schools would get a chance to prove their worth and talent despite being not fully supported with respect to musical instruments.
The unique feature of todays event was that every performance started with a poetry of Sheikh ul Alam and Lal Ded.
Todays judges were Miss Hawa Bashir, Shakeel Shaan and Aijaz Sahir. They not only judged the performances but also encourged the participating teams.
Todays chief guest was Mr. S.M. Sahai Additional DG Armed Police J&K. In his address to the audience Mr. Sahai congratulated DPS Management for conducting such a musical event. He appreciated the efforts and initiatives taken by DPS Srinagar for providing such a platform to participating schools who come from remote areas to prove their talent and hardwork.
He also announced to provide musical instruments to the schools which are not fully equipped with such instruments.
Mr. Sahai along with the Principal Kussam Warikoo did the honours of award distribution.
