Today Shirin – Saaz Te Awaaz had nine talented teams from district Baramulla and Ganderbal who performed with full vigor and enthusiasm exhibiting their art of singing.
As we are reaching close to the quarter finals, the participants are putting enormous efforts to reach the grand finale and trying to steal the show.The judges for today were Mr. Sulaiman Khan, the renowned singer of J&K Mr. Peer Jahangir who is a talented music teacher at DPS Srinagar.
Today’s guest of honour was Mr. Haseeb Drabu hon’ble Finance Minister govt of J&K. In his address to the audience Mr. Drabu said he had all praises for the initiatives taken by DPS Athwajan, Srinagar. “I would have loved to be a dipsite, had DPS been establsihed in Srinagar during my school days. As a student I would have loved to be part of such cultural programs.”
Drabu also said he was overwhelmed by the mesmerising performances of the participating teams. Songs based on poetry of famous Kahmiri poets like Wahab Khar, Rehman Dar, Ahmad Batwari, Shah Qalander etc were praised by Mr. Drabu.
He also said Kashmiri Language is our mother tongue and we have to come forward for its preservation and promotion.
Mr. Drabu also laid emphasis on the performances presented by the students which he said is the highest level of mystic poetry bringing together all faiths.
At the end of the performances Mr. Drabu did the honours of award distribution.
Teams who qualified for quarter finals were:

- Alamdar Mission School, Baramulla
- Govt Girls High School, Delina
Special performances of the day were by Suraya Maqbool and Mehreen.
